Ukulele class in Charlotte

Ukulele Crash Course
Saturdays, January 14^th and Jan. 21^st  
10 AM – 12 NOON, $45.00  
You will learn basic chords, strumming patterns and how to transpose any song into a ukulele friendly key.  You'll have fun making music with others. The cost includes an instruction/songbook.  The class will be held at my home (7107 Valley Haven Drive, Charlotte, 29211) and is open to age 14 and up.  For an additional $55.00 I will supply a nice sounding Lanikai soprano ukulele.  If you want to give the ukulele and class as a gift, you can pick up the ukulele from me in December.  Send me an email to register.

Jan. 15th

Great class today! You may be feeling a little overwhelmed with so much information crammed into such a short time.  Don't worry.  It will get easier with practice.  A little practice each day is more effective than a long practice once a week.  Find a place that you can leave your ukulele and book out so that you can pick it up anytime you have a few minutes to spare.  When I was a kid, we kept the ukulele on top of the piano.

Here are recordings of some of the songs if you'd like to sing and play along and a link to help you tune your ukulele.  Don't forget, "My Dog Has Fleas".

I have one ukulele available to borrow for the day. Class limit is 8. Ages 14-adult

Ukulele Song Book

Here is the ukulele songbook that I have put together for our class.  The songs range in difficulty from easy (two chords) to difficult (lots of chords and chord changes).  The more difficult songs are worth the effort as they have lots of fun chords and cool chord progressions.  For those who took the class last year you'll find some new songs in this book.  For those starting the class on Monday I'll have a copy of the book for you.  Have fun!

New Class to begin March 8th

I will offer a beginning ukulele class at my home on Mondays, March 8th - April 5th, 2:30-3:30.You will learn basic chords and strumming patterns and have fun making music with others. The cost is $44.00 (songbook included). I will order ukuleles for those interested. The cost will be about $50.00 for a nice sounding Lanikai soprano ukulele.
